Naples Named 2017’S Best Beach Town to Live in by WalletHub

Experts looked at affordability, weather, safety, quality of life among other factors

Naples, Fla. (June 30, 2017) – Naples, Florida is the “Best Beach Town to Live In” according to the latest ranking by personal finance website WalletHub, beating out other popular destinations including St. Augustine, Florida and Charleston, South Carolina. Out of a possible 100 points, Naples took first place with a score of 66.36.

To determine the winner, WalletHub compared 227 cities across 49 key indicators of livability that fell under six buckets: affordability, weather, safety, economy, education and health, and quality of life. Within the six major dimensions, experts judged the city on 49 relevant metrics, graded on a 100-point scale, with a score of 100 representing the most favorable conditions for beach-town living.

“Naples ranked number one for quality of life and that further substantiates Gallup-Healthways’ recent ranking of the Naples-Marco Island metro area as the Happiest-Healthiest Community in its annual well-being index,” said Jack Wert, executive director of Naples, Marco Island, Everglades Convention and Visitors Bureau. “Ultimately it comes back to the great people we have here in Naples that put their heart and soul into the attractions, nature-based tours, hotels, restaurants and shops that make Naples such a special place. For locals, it truly is living in paradise and we encourage travelers to come experience it for themselves.”

Other Florida cities to make the Top 10 include Key West (#2), St. Augustine (#5), Marco Island (#7), Key Biscayne (#8) and Boca Raton (#9).
